Hi, I'm Denise Garlick, and I am the State Representative for the 13th Norfolk District, comprised of Needham, Dover and Medfield. Thanks for taking the time to learn more about me.

I was elected in 2010, and am a member of the Health Care Finance, Education and Public Health committees.

Before coming to the State House, I was Vice-Chairman of the Needham Board of Selectmen, and a member of the Board of Health and Town Meeting. I also co-Chaired the Needham Coalition for Suicide Prevention and Senior Center Exploratory Committees.

My work a Registered Nurse, has taken me many places, including: Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Charles River Association for Retarded Citizens, McLean Hospital, the Veterans Administration Hospital, West Roxbury, Glover Hospital in Needham and most recently as Community Outreach Nurse Educator at Wellesley College. I was also President of the Massachusetts Nurses Association, a professional organization of 23,000 members.

My husband Russell and I have been residents in Needham for 25 years and are the proud parents of four children: Monica, Elizabeth, Alex and Andy.
